Reason for Loss Landed on three engines after a sortie lasting more than 5 hours. Overshot and turned off line, banking vertically before it crashed approximately 100 yards from the guardroom. The ensuing investigation indicated that the pilot had failed to retract the undercarriage quickly enough and had also failed to instruct the other crew members to assume crash stations and they were found not to be strapped in.
