Reason for Loss | There are a variety of conflicting reports about ACW2 Hardcastle's death, ranging from having driven a soft-topped vehicle into the rotating airscrew of a Halifax to somebody discharging a Very pistol into her face during some horseplay. It would appear that she died in RAF Hospital Ely since her death is registered in Ely and this is too distant from Graveley to be normal practice. |
