Reason for Loss | Bombed the target from 20000' at 20:58hrs. The ORB comments that there was an increase in the number of searchlights since the last attack on this target. It also comments that there was 'much electricity'- presumably meaning lightning. Moderate heavy flak was encountered from 18000' to 22000/23000'. Attacked by a night-fighter at 21:22 while at 19000', killing the rear gunner and injuring the mid-upper gunner. Made an otherwise safe return to base, landing at 23:46. |
