Reason for Loss | Shot down by Flak and crashed at Rübke (north of Neu Wulmstorf). Five bodies were recovered from the crash site. Sgt. Keighley's body was not found, he sank into the bog along with parts of the Wellington. In the telegram to Luftgaukommando XI Hamburg, the recovery possibilities were stated as poor. At first the dead were buried in the camp cemetery in Parnewinkel, but after the war they were transferred to Becklingen. |
