Operation | Hagen. 504 aircraft, 2 losses. A very detailed local report was produced by the Germans detailing bombing mostly in the central, eastern and southern districts. 1658 houses, 92 industrial buildings, 21 schools, 14 cultural buildings, 5 hospitals and 5 banks were destroyed or seriously damaged. Many of the local firms reported up to 3 months' loss of production, including a factory making U-boat accumulators, although this was not learned by the Allies until after the war ended. |
