Reason for Loss | Shot down by a night-fighter flown by Oblt. Reinhold Eckardt, who shot down four British bombers that night. The Halifax crashed at Eilendorf, near Buxtehude, 20km SW of Hamburg in several pieces. The only survivor of the crew was Sgt. J.S. Lipton. |
