Reason for Loss | Hit by flak, causing the aircraft to roll to port just as the bombs were away. Recovered by the pilot but then a fire became established on the starboard wing. Had to be abandoned before reaching Allied lines and only the rear gunner, Sgt D Broadhead, survived. No trace of the aircraft or crew was ever found. |
