Reason for Loss | Birmingham Mail June 20th 1942: "AIRMEN ON TANDEM. Birmingham Man Killed, Another Injured. As they were cycling on a tandem to their homes in Birmingham last evening, two airmen were hit by a car as they came out of a side road on to the main Tamworth road at Lichfield. Leading Aircraftman Norman William Pearson, of 29, Marlow Road, Erdington, fractured his skull and died. His companion, Leading Aircraftman Edgar Edward Griffiths, of 128 Addison Road, Birmingham, is detained in hospital with a fractured leg and severe laceration of the right side of the face. |
