Reason for Loss | Gloucester Echo February 6th 1942: "HANGING TRAGEDY OF R.A.F. SERGEANT. That an R.A.F. sergeant who "did not want to go overseas" hanged himself in his hut while the balance of his mind was disturbed was the verdict recorded by Mr. J. D. Lane, the North Gloucestershire Coroner, at an inquest at Honeybourne on Thursday on Sergt. Arthur Paul Mons Kirton, aged 25, of 243 Kingsley Avenue, Kettering, Northants. Sergt. Hugh Stanley Morris, who gave evidence of identification, said that he was instructing Kirton, who seemed very quiet and worried about something. He was a good pupil. "He told me he did not want to go overseas, but gave no paticular reason," he said. |
