Reason for Loss | Shot down by a night-fighter flown by Maj. Walter Ehle of Stab II./NJG1 (his 29th victory). Crashed at approximately 01:50 hours near Boschweg Road, behind the De Ketting Café in a forested area of Boxtel, Netherlands. All of the crew perished. The local fire brigade attended the scene when a bomb exploded in the burning wreckage killing two firemen and seriously injuring three more. The two dead firemen were Petrius van der Ven and Martinus Goossens. |
