| Reason for Loss | Shortly after takeoff the pilot radioed to state that they were returning due to engine difficulties. Forty minutes after takeoff the aircraft crashed in trees two miles north of the airfield and burst into flames. Accident investigators found a sheared split pin which was attributed as the cause of the accident. |
